Andrii Nechyporuk was born on February 18, 1981, in the village of Ridkiv, Radyvyliv Raion, Rivne Oblast. From 1987 to 1996, he studied at Ridkiv Comprehensive School. He received secondary education in Radyvyliv Comprehensive School.
Raion Military Registration and Enlistment Office sent Andrii to study at Kozyn Motor Transport School. Shortly afterward, he finished Training Center of Rivne Oblast Council and obtained the qualification of gas facilities fitter. From June 9, 1999, Andrii served at Cherkasy Military Base and in November of the same year, he was sent to Kotovsk Military Base in Odesa Oblast – to the detached unit of special operations #2196 B3.
After demobilization in November 2000, Andrii worked as a security guard at the Publicly Traded Company “Azot”. From 2001, he lived in the city of Rivne.
In 2010, Andrii moved from Rivne to the village of Bronnyky, Rivne Raion, where he began building a house and managing his household.
On April 11, 2014, he volunteered for military service in the Zone of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). Having finished training on Tuchyn Military Firing Ground, Andrii was sent to the East where he did military service as a driver-medical attendant. Andrii often called home, supported his family morally and asked his relatives not to worry.
On May 22, 2014, around 6 a.m. between Olhynka and Volodymyrivka near the city of Volnovakha the subversive terrorist group launched an attack on the detached unit of Ukrainian military officers. According to eyewitnesses’ account, separatists arrived in two armored cars and two off-road vehicles and opened massive fire from grenade launchers, MANPADS, and machine guns. During the shellfire, one of the shells hit the combat vehicle, which stood at the checkpoint. It caused the explosion of the ammunition equipment. As a result, 17 military officers were killed, and many got injured. Andrii died from a single shot to the heart. The bullet just touched his military ticket.
Andrii was buried on May 27, 2014, in his native village.
His parents, a brother, a sister, a wife, and two daughters lack a relative.
According to the Presidential Executive Order # 311/2015 on June 4, 2015, Andrii was posthumously decorated with the Medal for Defender of the Motherland “for personal courage and high professionalism demonstrated in the protection of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath”.
According to the Decree of Rivne City Council #5756 on September 17, 2015, Andrii Nechyporuk was conferred the title of the Honorary Citizen of Rivne.
