Новіцький Віктор Павлович (14.04.1978–10.08.2014)
Viktor Novitskyi was born on April 14, 1978, in the village of Klymentiivka, Baranivka Raion. After finishing school, he graduated from a military lyceum, Service Academy in Odesa and Military Academy in Kyiv. Viktor lived with his wife and two children in Rivne.
He held a rank of lieutenant colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and administrative officer of the operational command “North”. From the first days, he was in the hazardous Zone of the Anti-Terrorist Operation.
On September 10, 2014, during the removal through the temporarily controlled by pro-Russian fighters territory, the column of the military hardware was attacked by enemies from multiple artillery rocket system fighting machine FM-21 Grad. A contract soldier of the mechanized brigade got injured. Under heavy shellfire, Viktor Novitskyi managed to provide the wounded with emergency medical aid and dragged him to a safe place. However, the next shell ended the life of lieutenant colonel.
He was buried with military honors in the town of Baranivka.… Читати далі

“Mom, I’m sorry for a black scarf”
The war like a dreadful black bird came again to Dubrovytskyi raion. It happened again like last year (when Fedir Pliashko was buried), it knocked on the window in the middle of the summer, when nature sang the Ode to Life.
On July 8 Ivan Borsuk, our compatriot, soldier of the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade died at the Kharkiv military hospital after sustaining injures in the outskirts of Popasna. Mournful tidings were spread of the raion and black ribbons, like snakes, intertwined with the blue of state flags. Another mother wore a black scarf and cuddled last son’s house, she was crying, weeping, praying.
Who was Ivan Borsuk? He was a son of hardworkers, a representative of a respected laborious family. He was an ordinary village guy destined to become a Hero. But no, he was not ordinary. Whether any average man who lived around us would join the war for a second time?… Читати далі
Ivan Zhukov (code name “Zhuk”) was born in 1968. He was at war since 2015. Ivan was a volunteer of the UVA (Ukrainian Volunteer Army led by Dmytro Yarosh), UTC (United Territorial Community) “Volyn” of a volunteer subdivision still not legalized by the Ukrainian Volunteer Army. Although, the death of the volunteer was not even reported in the local newspaper.
He was at war since 2015.
He was killed on May 23rd, 2018.
For personal courage, the Ukrainian defender was awarded a medal “For military merit.”… Читати далі
Roman was born on September 18, 1994 in the village of Kornyn, Rivne district. In 2012 he finished Kornyn secondary school.
On November 6, 2012, he was called up for military service in the ranks of the Ukrainian Army. Upon termination of service, he enlisted in military service under a contract.
Roman served under the contract, refused to be demobilized. Junior Sergeant Svirzhevskyi Roman Petrovych – commander of the division of command and staff cars chief of the radio station platoon command and the center of communication staff. Military unit A-1671 (55 Rivne separate brigade of operational command “West”). Beginning from 19 years he is in the field, from the very beginning of the war.
In July 2014, he was injured during a combat task.
Killed on May 1, 2016 in the village of Lower Duvanka, Svativskyi district, Luhansk region.
Buried in Kornyn village, Rivne district.
By the Decree of the President of Ukraine No.522 / 2016 of November 25, 2016, “for personal courage and high professionalism, revealed in the protection of the state sovereignty and the territorial integrity of Ukraine and loyalty to military oath,” he was awarded a medal for “For military service to Ukraine” (posthumously).… Читати далі
Томілін Володимир Юрійович
(22.08.1990 – 20.07.2015)
Volodymyr Tomilin was born on August 22, 1990 in Berezne, Rivne region. He went to the first class to Berezne secondary school № 2. In 2001 after divorce of his parents Volodymyr with his mother moved to Malynivka in Goshcha district Rivne region. In this village he went to school. After finishing the 9th class of the Malynivka secondary school he was studying in a vocational school №1 in Rivne.
In 2008 he was called up for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After expiration of the service he returned to his native village where he started a family.
On March 9, 2015, he volunteered for ATO. Since April 24, 2015 he participated in antiterrorist operation in Donetsk region. He was ranked – a senior soldier with a position – a shooter, 28 th mechanized brigade.
As a result of mortar shelling near the town Krasnohorivka (Mariinskyi district, Donetsk region) he died on July 20, 2015.… Читати далі
Taraschuk (a code name “Liudoiid”) was born on August 6, 1997, in the village of Khotyn, Rivne Raion, Rivne Oblast. From the 5th to 9th forms, he studied at Gorodok Comprehensive School. Then he entered Rivne Technical School of the National University of Water and Environmental Management, which he finished in 2015 obtaining the qualification of an electric and gas welder.
Taras was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine in November 2015. The senior seaman served as a machine gunner in the Battalion of the Naval Infantry.
On February 16, 2017, Taras Pronchuk died from an enemy’s bullet in the Zone of the Anti-Terrorist Operation in Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts performing combat missions on the protection of independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine. He left a mother and three brothers.
Taras was buried in the village of Khotyn, Rivne Raion.
According to the Presidential Executive Order №104/2017 on April 10, 2017, a junior sergeant Taras Pronchuk was posthumously decorated with the Third Class Order For Bravery “for personal courage demonstrated in the protection of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and the self-sacrificing performance of the military service”.… Читати далі
Юхимчук Олександр Володимирович
Yukhimchuk Olexander Vladimirovich was born in 1973 in the village Povchyne Novohrad-Volynskyi raion Zhytomyrska oblast. He have lived in Rivne for the last 20 years. Before the recruitment, he worked as a driver at the Emergency Station in Rivne. In March 2014, he was recruited to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, from the spring he was in the ATO zone. He served in the 30th separate mechanized guard brigade with a permanent place in Novograd-Volynskyi. Oleksandr stood at the checkpoints, repaired the equipment. The shy man: he never asked for holidays to visit his relatives, never been on rotation. Olexander died on January 24, 2015. Doctors suggest that the fighter died of acute coronary insufficiency. He left a widow and an 18-year-old daughter. The soldier was buried in his native village Povchyne Novohrad-Volynskyi raion Zhytomyrska oblast. According to the decision of the Rivne City Council №5756 from September 17, 2015, Yukhymchuk Oleksandr was awarded the title «Honorary Citizen of the Rivne city».… Читати далі
Тимощук Михайло Петрович (Професор) (13.08.1987-13.08.2014)
Mykhailo Tymoshchuk was born in Rivne on August 13, 1987, and in 1996, he moved to Berehovo in the Transcarpathian region, where his mother lived. He came from a mixed Ukrainian-Hungarian family. He studied at secondary school №5 in Berehovo, and then continued studying at the Ferenc Rakoczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian Institute, specializing in History and Geography (from 2005 till 2009). In 2010, he got a diploma of teacher of History.
In 2012, he went into Ukrainian services under contract. He was a senior soldier, senior mechanic driver of the 128th mechanized brigade, military unit A1556, with the nickname “Professor”.
He was killed on the day of his birth during the firing of the “Grad” brigade units in the area of the village Novohannivka (Krasnodon district) in Luhansk region.
Mykhailo was buried on August 17, 2014 in Berehovo.
He was awarded the Order “For Courage” of the III degree By the Decree of the President of Ukraine of March 14, 2015, № 144/2015 “for personal courage and heroism, found in the defence of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine”.… Читати далі
Maksym Turyk was born on November 4, 1981. Maksym was called up for military service during the partial mobilization by the Volodymyretsk Joint Raion Military Commissariat on March 14, 2015. Being the serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation and defended the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Maksym served in ATO Zone on the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts. In March 2016, after a mandatory year of service due to mobilization, he signed a short-term six-month contract.
On July 2, 2016, Maksym Turyk was hospitalized in Kharkiv Military Hospital, where he died on July 7.
The serviceman was buried at Starorafalivskyi Cemetery.

Суліцький Олександр Сергійович
(19.06.1979 – 09.08.2014)
Oleksandr Sulitskyi was born on June 6, 1979, in the town of Zdolbuniv, studied and lived in the town of Kvasyliv. He graduated from Special Vocational Training School №16 and got a specialty of a vehicle mechanic. In 1997 he was conscripted to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Oleksandr began his labor activity in 2000 at the Open Joint-Stock Company «Rivneholovpostach» as a 5-th category mechanic of rental vehicles. From 2001 to 2014, he worked at different enterprises.
From May 20, 2014, according to the Presidential Executive Order №454/2014 on May 6, 2014, on partial mobilization, Oleksandr was called up for military service to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After the battle adjustment on the training range, Oleksandr served in Horyn Battalion, took part in the battle actions within Anti-Terrorist Operation defending State sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
He died on August 9, 2014, while performing combat tasks. Oleksandr left a 13-year-old daughter.… Читати далі
