Yevhen V. Riepin (08.18.1994 – 03.20.2015)

Yevhen Riepin was born on September 18, 1994, in the city of Rivne. He lived in Ivan Franko Street. He graduated from Rivne Technical College of the National University of Water and Environmental Management, specializing in Maintenance and Repair of Equipment of Enterprises of Chemical and Oil and Gas Processing Industry. In the 80 ‘s he served in the Air Cavalry Brigade in the city of Lviv.

He joined the Anti-Terrorist Operation as a volunteer. From November 2014 he was enrolled to the 81 Novohrad-Volynsk Air Cavalry Brigade of the Reconnaissance Squadron.

Furthermore, from November 2014 Yevhen became the machine gunner-reconnaissance man. He demonstrated exceptional abilities, and thanks to that he was transferred to the position of the sniper of the intelligence group, which he headed later. He commanded a number of successful raids.

He died on March 20, 2015. The tragedy occurred near the village of Vodiane (Yasynuvatskyi Raion), near the city of Donetsk. Yevhen together with a group of soldiers went to rescue his friend, got into an ambush and was mortally wounded.… Читати далі

Ivan Okhmak (06.08.1991 – 02.02.2015)

Ivan Okhmak was born on June 8, 1991, in the village of Luhove, Dubrovytsia Raion. He studied at Luhove Primary School and Myliach Comprehensive School. After finishing it in 2008, Ivan entered Sarny Vocational School № 22. He finished it in 2011 obtaining the qualification of technician-mechanic. In October 2011, Ivan was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine according to the order of the Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine Ivan Okhmak. Ivan served in the battalion of communications and radio-technical support in the Military Base A4465, and in 2012, he returned from the compulsory military service.

On September 1, 2014, Ivan was mobilized again. He served as a driver of field communications in the Military Base Field Post Office V4673. On February 2, 2015, Ivan died performing a combat mission of eliminating the damaged connections in a base camp near Debaltsevo.

According to the Presidential Executive Order №108/2015 “About the Decoration of National Awards”, Ivan Okhmak was posthumously awarded the Third Class Order For Bravery “for personal courage and heroism demonstrated in the defense of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath”.… Читати далі

Yurii Sokol (12.09.1988 – 06.15.2015)

Yuri Sokol  was born on December 9, 1988, in the village of Liudyn of Dubrovytsia Raion in the family of workers. In 1995, he entered the first form of the Liudyn Secondary School and graduated from it in 2006. Up to now Yurii is remembered at school as a quiet, modest, and steady pupil. Since the early childhood, he showed deep concern and respect for people. In 2007, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Yurii served in the city of Vinnytsia. After returning from the army some time he went to work in Kiev and Kharkiv.

In 2013, Yurii worked at the plant “Torf Land Ukraine» in the village of Liudyn. On September 28, 2014, he was conscripted to the National Guard, held preparation in the city of Lviv.  A month later Yurii was transferred to the city of Kharkiv in order to continue learning. In October, he was at the checkpoint in Zaporizhia Oblast. Subsequently, on November 16, 2014, Yurii was sent into the area of Anti-Terrorist Operation in Luhansk Oblast, the village of Krymske, where he stayed until January 5, 2015.… Читати далі

Vitalii Mazur (08.25.1979 – 01.26.2015)

Vitalii Mazur was born on September 25, 1979, in the village of Zasluchchia, Dubrovytsia Raion, Rivne Oblast.

After finishing 10 forms at Kolky Comprehensive School in 1996,   he studied at Dubrovytsia Vocational School from 1996 to 1997 to be a builder.

In 1997, Vitalii was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served in the Airborne Forces in Simferopol. Shortly afterward, he did compulsory military service in the special forces in Kirovohrad. His further service Vitalii connected with the assault forces where he was a master sergeant of the reconnaissance company and a chief of the food warehouse. Vitalii had been serving as a master sergeant of the 3rd Air-mobile Rota in the Military Base A1910, Korbutivka Raion, for a long time. Before the outbreak of hostilities, he was appointed a Chief Petty Officer of the 13th Battalion.

On March 8, 2014, Vitalii performed combat missions to defend the Motherland, first in the Crimea, then on the east.  On January 22, he got a severe battle injury to the head near such settlements as Spartak (Yasynuvata Raion) – Sieverne near Donetsk Airport.… Читати далі

Oleksandr Yarmolich (03.09.1991 – 01.31.2015)

Oleksandr molich was born on March 9, 1991, in the village of Veliun, Dubrovytsia Raion. In 2008, Oleksandr graduated from Veliun Secondary School and entered Rivne Higher Vocational School under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. In April 2012, he was called up for a regular military service (the 80th Air Mobile Unit of Lviv). On October 9, 2012, Oleksandr became a senior gun-layer and the commander of a subdivision. After the regular service in the paratroops of the 80th Air Mobile Unit of the city of Lviv, he continued his service by contract.

In August 2013, Oleksandr was awarded the title of a Senior Sergeant. At that time, the 80th Air Mobile Unit went to the East to defend the integrity of Ukraine.

Oleksandr Yarmolich received severe injuries during the bombardment by illegal armed groups with BM-21 “Hrad” of Luhansk Power Station in the town of Shchastia.

Oleksandr died on January 31, 2015, in the hospital of the town of Shchastia, Luhansk Oblast.… Читати далі

Oleh Vashchyshyn (06.06.1991-08.29.2014)

Oleh Vashchyshyn was born on June 6, 1991, in the village of Selets, Dubrovytsia District. Oleh started school in 1997 and proved himself to be a disciplined and hardworking student.  Moreover, he took an active part in the sport life of the school. He took football and basketball classes and participated in many district and regional competitions.
After graduation, in 2008, Oleh was called up for military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. There he served in a reconnaissance squadron at the military base of the city of Rivne. After military service, he worked on a construction site in Kyiv.
However, during the ATO in the eastern part of Ukraine, he was one of the first volunteers who came to protect that area in the spring of 2014. He served as an IFV gunner in the 51st mechanized infantry brigade of the 3rd battalion. During quite a short period of time, Oleh visited the hottest spots of Donetsk and Luhansk Regions.… Читати далі

Serhii Shvets (07.20.1975 – 6.25.2015)

Serhii  Shvets was born on July 20, 1975, in the town of Dubno. He graduated from Dubno Secondary School №6 and Dubno Vocational School, worked at various jobs.  On May 13, 2015, Serii was conscripted. He did not have a family, that is why, he went to serve, though, remained the only son of his mother. The elder son and a husband of his mother were already buried earlier. Unfortunately, the soldier of the 2nd Separate Motorized Infantry Battalion of Operational Command “Pivnich”, a communication agent didn’t serve for long.

Serhii was killed near the village of Luhanske, Artemivsk Raion, Donetsk Oblast. Serhii Shvets didn’t live three weeks till his fortieth anniversary.  He died on the night of June 25, 2015. In the evening Serhii talked to his mom, Halyna, who did not suspect anything wrong and did not think that it was the last talk with him. Eduard Danilov (08.04.1968-08.19.2014)

Eduard Danilov was born on August 4th in the city of Pinsk, Belarus. He studied at the Vasylkiv Military Aeronautical Technical Academy in 1985-1988.

From 1988 to 2001, Eduard served as a senior aircraft maintenance technician in Dubno Military Unit.

From 1996 till the unit disbandment, he was a commanding officer of the technical exploitation unit of the bomber air regiment of the bomber aviation division.

Eduard served as a senior aircraft maintenance technician in the military unit from 2001-2004.

He took part in the United Nations peacekeeping missions twice: the first time in 2004 in Sierra Leone and the second – in 2005 in Liberia. Eduard was presented twice with the United Nations Medals “For the Service of Peace.”

In the winter of 2014, he was participating in Maidan in Kyiv. On March 24th, 2014, Eduard was conscripted to the Armed Forces of Ukraine by a recruiting station of Dubno and Radyvyliv and sent to the military unit in the town of Kalyniv.… Читати далі

Serhii V. Kochetov (a call sign ‘Cat’) (11.30.1985 – 11.1.2016)

Serhii Kochetov was born in the town of  Smyha, Dubno Raion. He was the only son in the family. Serhii studied in Smyha Secondary School.

After its graduation in 2003, he attended Kozyn Driving School. Then, Serhii did the military service in the town of Yavoriv, Lviv Oblast.

From January 30, 2013, to August 30, 2014, he actively participated in the Revolution of Dignity. He took part in the Hrushevskyi Street Riots and defended the Ukrainian House. Serhii was severely shell-shocked on Maidan. Because of the serious problems with his back,  he felt pain when walking. Despite all this, on August 30, 2014, Serhii started to fight in the war. Since that time and till his death, he fought in Aidar. At first, he was a volunteer there, but in February 2015, Serhii signed a contract until the end of the special period or, in other words, till the end of the so-called Anti-terrorist Operation.

Firstly, Serhii Kochetov was on a reconnaissance mission, and then, he became a senior gunner of the mortar platoon in Aidar 24th Assault Battalion of the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade.… Читати далі

Dmytro Napriienko (“Aramis”) (02.21.1991 – 01.01.2015)

Dmytro Napriienko was born on February 21, 1991, in the city of Dubno.

He studied at Dubno Educational Complex “School-Gymnasium”, Dubno Pedagogical College and at the Faculty of Humanities (English Philology Department) of Taras Shevchenko Regional Humanitarian and Pedagogical Academy of Kremenets.

In December 2014, 24-year-old Dmytro volunteered for the front. He was a junior sergeant, a sniper of the mechanized infantry platoon of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Rota of the 99th Mechanized Infantry Battalion, the military base – Field Post Office В0116, the 14th Mechanized Brigade (formerly – the 1st Territorial Defense Battalion “Volyn”). Dmytro had a code name “Aramis”.

On December 1, 2015, he lost his life during the tragic circumstances near the city of Krasnohorivka, Mariinka Raion, Donetsk Oblast.

His last interview appeared on October 22, in the local newspaper under the title “Snipers Hunt the Heroes”.

He was buried with military honors on December 5, 2015, in the city of Dubno.… Читати далі
