Oleksandr Yukhymchuk (01.30.1973 – 24.1.2015)

Yukhymchuk Oleksandr was born in 1973 in the village of Povchyne, Novohrad-Volynsk Raion, Zhytomyr Oblast. Over the past 20 years, he lived in Rivne. Before conscription into the Army Oleksandr worked as the driver at an Ambulance Service Station in the city of Rivne.

In March 2014, he was called up to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, starting from spring Oleksandr was in the ATO Zone. He served in the 30th Guards Mechanized Brigade, permanently located in the town of Novohrad-Volynsk.  Oleksandr stood at checkpoints, repaired equipment. He was a humble guy and never asked for a vacation to visit his relatives, never was rotated.

Oleksandr died on January 24, 2015. Doctors suggest that the soldier died of acute coronary insufficiency. Oleksandr left a widow and an 18-year old daughter.

The soldier was buried in his native village of Povchyno, Novohrad-Volyn Raion, Zhytomyr Oblast.

According to the Decree of Rivne City Council №5756 on September 17, 2015, Yukhymchuk Oleksandr was conferred the title “The Honorary Citizen of Rivne”.… Читати далі

Borysenko Oleksandr O. (03.28.1993-09.01.2014)

Oleksandr Borysenko was born in the city of Rivne. He graduated from Rivne Secondary School № 5. After this, he had been studying in the group №14 at the Technical College of the National University of Water and Environmental Management from 2008 to 2011. His qualification was the electrician of retail and refrigerating equipment. Having graduated from the college, Oleksandr joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

A twenty-one-year-old sniper served in the 30th Mechanized Brigade of the 8th Army Corps in the town of Novohrad-Volynskyi. He was one of the first people who were in Crimea during its annexation in March.

Oleksandr was severely wounded during the trench mortaring in the town of Lutuhine, Luhansk Oblast. He was delivered to the military hospital, but the doctors could not save the soldier. Oleksandr died on September 1, 2014. The Hero was buried on the Alley of the Heavenly Hundred at the cemetery “Nove”.

According to the Presidential Executive Order № 270/2015 on May 15, 2015, he was posthumously decorated with the Third Class Order For Bravery “for valor and high professionalism demonstrated in the protection of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath”.… Читати далі

Vitalii Lavrenchuk (07.25.1976 – 09.20.2014)

A lieutenant-colonel of the Operational Command Center Agency “North” Vitalii Lavrenchuk was born in a military family on July 25, 1976, in the city of Groznyi, Chechnia. He dreamed of becoming a professional serviceman like his father since childhood, and for this reason, he persistently went towards his goal.

In 1993, Vitalii entered the Military College in the city of Kamianets-Podilskyi. However, in 1996, he left military service, and a year later, Vitalii was conscripted into the Armed Forces on the contract basis.

Shortly afterward, he continued studying at the Military-Engineering Department in Kamianets-Podilskyi National Agrarian-Technical University. After graduating it in 1988, Vitalii was enlisted at the command of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He graduated from the National University of Defense of Ukraine in Kiev.

On September 16, 2014, a highly experienced career soldier and lieutenant-colonel of the Operational Command Center Agency “North” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vitalii Lavrenchuk was sent to the Zone of Anti-Terrorist Operation as part of the task group of the headquarters of Anti-Terrorist Operation in the sector “M” on the territory of Donetsk Oblast.… Читати далі

Serhii Huliuk (09.07.1981-07.31.2014)

Serhii Huliuk was born on September 7th, 1981, in the city of Rivne. He lived in Lutsk. He did military service in the Border Security Force for some time, and in 2002, he was conscripted to the army on a contract basis. Serhii Huliuk served as a junior sergeant in the Lutsk border detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

He had stayed in the zone of the Anti-Terrorist Operation since June 28th, 2014. On July 31st, 2014, the border guards were mortared by Russian mercenaries and soldiers in the Raion of Vasylivka. As a result of this confrontation, five border guards were killed, and 11 were injured. Sergeant Serhii lost his life on that day. The deceased left three children: two sons, 12 and 6 years old, and a 4-year-old daughter.

Serhii was buried on August 3, 2014, in the village of Zavyziv, Ostroh Raion.

According to the Presidential Executive Order №, 640/2014 on August 8th, 2014, Serhii Huliuk was posthumously awarded the Third Class Order For Bravery “for personal courage and heroism demonstrated in defense of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.”… Читати далі

Ihor Voloshyn (11.17.1985-07.21.2014)

Ihor Voloshyn was born on November 17, 1985, in the city of Rivne. He studied at the local Center of Hope School.  He graduated from the Rivne Cooperative Professional College of Economics and Law and the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering where he was a student of the Economics Faculty. Ihor worked as an economist in the bank.

On May 16, 2014, he was called up to serve in the army (according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine # 454/2014 on “Partial mobilization in Ukraine”, dated May 6, 2014) by Dnipro regional military commissariat. Ihor served as a senior sergeant in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and machine gunner of the 39th territorial defense battalion “Dnipro-2”.

The twenty-eight-year-old soldier died at the checkpoint near the village of Kamianka, Donetsk Region on July 21, 2014. At 7 p.m. a minibus filled with explosive drove to the checkpoint and blew up. As a result, five soldiers, including Ihor Voloshyn, were killed.… Читати далі

Yurii Oliferchuk (10.30.1992 – 07.12.2014)

Oliferchuk Yurii Leontiiovych was a scout-sniper of the 30th separate mechanized brigade of Land forces of Armed Forces of Ukraine, a soldier. He was born on October 30th, 1992 in Rivne. He lived in the Berezovyi Hrud village, Luhynskyi raion, Zhytomyrska oblast. He graduated from Radohoshchanskyi educational complex “General and pre-school educational institution” of the Radohoshcha village, Luhynskyi raion. He was in compulsory military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a construction worker in Kiev. On March 18, 2014 he was mobilized in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a scout-sniper of the 30th separate mechanized brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0409). Since the spring of 2014 he participated in the antiterrorist operation in the East of Ukraine. In July 11, 2014 in the town of Oleksandrivsk, Luhanska oblast the column of Ukrainian troops was ambushed by terrorists. There was soldier Oliferchuk. The enemy captured military equipment. Soldiers Oliferchuk personally headed the Intelligence Department in repelling an attack in the absence of the commander.… Читати далі

Volodymyr Tit (05.26.1980 – 12.25.2015)

Tit Volodymyr was born on May 26, 1980, in the village of Snovydovychi, Rokytne Raion, Rivne Oblast.  In 1986, Volodymyr went to the first class of Snovydovychi Secondary School, where he got the incomplete general education.

In 1995, he entered Sarnny Vocational School №38, where he obtained the major of a plumber-gas welder. In 1998, Volodymyr was called up for active military service to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the service in the city of Simferopol, Military Unit A-2209 7, Crimea Division of the National Mineral Resources University for 1.5 years.  After the army service, Volodymyr continued his study in Rokytne Vocational School.

In 2001, Volodymyr worked as a gas welder in Ukrainian Wood Processing Company “Roksolana”.

On September 8, 2014, during mobilization Volodymyr went to defend the borders of the motherland. At first, Volodymyr was training at Yavoriv Training Ground, then he served in the 51st Mechanized Brigade of the city of Volodymyr-Volynskyi (3 months). Later, Volodymyr was transferred to the 24th Mechanized Brigade.… Читати далі

Ruslan Klymenko (09.08.1978 – 03.12.2016)

Ruslan Y. Klymenko was born on September 8, 1978, in the rural town of Rokytne.  He studied at Rokytne School № 1 from 1985 to 1992, and

from 1992 to 1994, he learned a trade of a cabinet-maker, builder, and carpenter in Rokytne Vocational School. Ruslan had jobs as an unskilled worker in private companies.

However, according to the Decree on Partial Mobilization, he was conscripted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine on July 20, 2015, to defend the borders of the country.

He did military service in the village of Yelyzavetivka, Donetsk Oblast.

Ruslan died in the Raion Hospital of the town of Kurakhove, Donetsk Oblast, on March 12, 2016. He left a father and an adult son. Ruslan Klymenko was buried in the rural town of Rokytne, Rivne Oblast.… Читати далі

Leonid Ozeranchuk (12.01.1991 – 05.22.2014)

Leonid Ozeranchuk was born on December 1, 1991, in the village of Tomashhorod, Rokytne Raion, Rivne Oblast. In 2009, he finished the local Educational Complex “Comprehensive School-Lyceum”. In the same 2009, Ozeranchuk family moved to the village of Osnytsk for the permanent place of residence.  Leonid entered Sarny Vocational School №22 which he finished in 2011 obtaining the qualification of an automobile mechanic. From 2012 to 2013, Leonid served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Having returned from service, Leonid worked on a saw machine in Tomashhorod Forest Division of the Governmental Establishment Klesiv Forestry Enterprise.

Leonid died on May 22, 2014, during an armed attack on a checkpoint in the area of Velyko-Anadol Railway Station in Donetsk Oblast.

The deceased soldier left parents, two sisters and a fiancee.

According to the Presidential Executive Order №311/2015 on June 4, 2015, Leonid was posthumously decorated with the Medal for Defender of the Motherland “for personal courage and high professionalism demonstrated in the protection of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath”.… Читати далі

Petro Bilets (05.28.1986-08.29.2014)

Petro Bilets was born on May 28, 1986, in the village of Netreba, Rokytne District, Rivne Region. In 2002, he finished secondary school in the village of Netreba. From 2004 to 2006, Petro had been enlisted in the Tank Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city of Lviv. After finishing the service, he had worked in the Forestry Division in the village of Borivske.
On April 10, 2014, Petro was conscripted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the 51st Mechanized Brigade in the city of Volodymyr-Volynsk.

Petro Bilets was last heard of on August 28. Petro died in the battle outside the town of Ilovaisk on August 29, 2014, during the departure from the Ilovaisk Cauldron through the so-called “green corridor” near the village of Novokaterynivka. On September 2, the body of the soldier together with the bodies of other 97 deceased was delivered to the morgue in the city of Zaporizhzhia. Petro Bilets was identified by his battle comrades and relatives.… Читати далі
