Oleksandr Sulitskyi (06.19.1979 – 08.09.2014)

Oleksandr Sulitskyi  was born on June 6, 1979, in the town of Zdolbuniv, studied and lived in the town of Kvasyliv. He graduated from Special Vocational Training School №16 and got a specialty of a vehicle mechanic. In 1997 he was conscripted to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Oleksandr began his labor activity in 2000 at the Open Joint-Stock Company «Rivneholovpostach» as a 5-th category mechanic of rental vehicles.  From 2001 to 2014, he worked at different enterprises.

From May 20, 2014, according to the Presidential Executive Order №454/2014 on May 6, 2014, on partial mobilization, Oleksandr was called up for military service to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After the battle adjustment on the training range, Oleksandr served in Horyn Battalion, took part in the battle actions within Anti-Terrorist Operation defending State sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

He died on August 9, 2014, while performing combat tasks. Oleksandr left a 13-year-old daughter.

According to the Presidential Executive Order №103/2016 on March 21, 2016, Oleksandr was posthumously decorated with the Third Class Order For Bravery “for personal bravery and high professionalism demonstrated in the protection of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and loyalty to the military oath”.… Читати далі

Andrii Yaroshenko (12.21.1982 – 06.11.2015)

Andrii was born in 1982 in the town of Zdolbuniv. He graduated from Zdolbuniv Secondary School №4, resided in the town of Zdolbuniv and worked on the railway.

Andrii served in the 55th Artillery Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a member of Zdolbuniv “Sotnia” of self-defense. Despite the warning of doctors, Andrii filed a claim and on March 10, 2015, voluntarily went to fight in the East.

According to the spokesman of ATO staff, on June 10, 2015. in the area of the village of Luhanske, Donetsk Oblast the weapons serviceman died as a result of misconduct with weapons.  In accordance with other information, Andrii died after the training of shooting at the ground. Taras Yakymchuk (09.06.1993 – 07.24.2014)

Taras was born on September 6, 1993, in the village of Mizoch, Zdolbuniv Raion, Rivne Oblast. Taras was a serviceman, a soldier of the 8th Special Purpose Regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, occupied the position of a gunner. He served under contract since October 2011. Taras was one of those who spent the longest period in the zone of battle actions.

On July 24, 2014, during exploration in the suburbs of the town of Pervomaisk, the truck “KAMAZ” with the Ukrainian soldiers on board was attacked by terrorist snipers and grenade throwers.  Taras jumped out of the driver’s cabin, but a sniper hit him in the side between the plates of body armor. Seriously injured fighter was taken to the hospital by a helicopter, but didn’t survive and died on board.

On July 27, 2014, a funeral procession was held in the village of Mizoch, Zdolbuniv Raion, Rivne Oblast.

Taras was only 20 years old, he had a brother and a sister.… Читати далі

Serhii Sholudko (3.26.1977 – 09.23.2015)

Serhii Sholudko was born on March 26, 1977, in the village of Mizoch in Zdolbuniv Raion. He worked at a local boarding school. Serhii was called up to the Armed Forces of Ukraine on March 10, 2015, and served as the main gun commander. He had the rank of a sergeant-major.

On September 23, 2015, while performing official duties in the Anti-Terrorist Operation Zone (urban village Myrne, Melitopil Raion, Zaporizhzhia Oblast) the sergeant-major Serhii Sholudko got cardiac arrest at 7.45 p. m. The serviceman was only 39 years old, he left two children.

Oleksandr Sholudko (06.16.1988 – 10.20.2015)

Oleksandr was born on June 16, 1988, in the village of Uizdtsi of Zdolbuniv Raion, Rivne Oblast. Oleksandr was called up to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on March 10, 2015. He served in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade. On October 12, 2015, Oleksandr was blown up on a mini-trip wire while performing combat tasks in the area of the 29th Block Post of Luhansk Oblast.

On October 20, 2015, being still unconscious, Oleksandr died from the wounds in Kharkiv military hospital. He left his wife and a daughter.

According to the Presidential Executive Order № 9/2016 on January 16, 2016, Oleksandr was posthumously decorated with the Third Class Order For Bravery “for personal courage and high professionalism demonstrated in the protection of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath”.… Читати далі

Oleksii Sapozhnikov (03.29.1989-05.15.2015)

Oleksii, a soldier nickname “Sapoh» was born on March 29, 1989, in the town of Zdolbuniv, Rivne Oblast. He resided in the town of Zdolbuniv (Railway District). In 2007 he graduated from Zdolbunìv Higher Vocational School of Railway Transport.

Oleksii was the fighter of the 24 Independent Assault Battalion “Aidar” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He voluntarily went to the battalion in November 2014. Oleksii was a sniper.

On May 8, 2015, in the village of Novotoshkivka, Popasniansk Raion of Luhansk oblast, on the 29th Road Block Post near the village of Bakhmutki, Oleksii received a severe anti-personnel injury. He was immediately delivered to the town of Lysychansk and operated, later transferred to the hospital of the city of Kharkiv. On May 15, still being unconsciousness, he died from injuries at Kharkiv hospital. The last visitation with the Hero took place at the Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv on May 16. The same day a soldier was met in the town of Zdolbuniv.… Читати далі

Roman Vidnichuk (05.26.1989-08.31.2015)

Roman was born in the village of Bohdashiv, Zdolbuniv Raion on May 26, 1989.

He graduated from Volyn Military Lyceum with Intensified Military and Physical Training. After graduation, he entered The National Technical University Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute. Roman studied at the department known today as Guards Department of Military Education and Training. Later, he was assigned to serve in the tank battalion in the rural town of Desna, Chernihiv Oblast.

On June 12, 2012, Roman was transferred to the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy in the city of Lviv. However, on August 12, 2014, he decided to take part in the counter-terrorist operation in the East of Ukraine. He served as a company second-in-command responsible for the weaponry of the 42nd motorized infantry battalion of the 57th motorized infantry brigade of the combatant command “Pivden”. Roman was wounded in the winter of 2015. However, after a leave, he returned to the front line.

Roman Vidnichuk died on August 31, 2015, near Horlivka in Donetsk Oblast while demining the territory in the night.… Читати далі

Yurii Datsiuk (01.27.1987 – 01.20.2015)

Yurii was born on October 4, 1987, in the village of Hlynsk, Zdolbuniv Raion, Rivne Oblast. He studied at Hlynsk Secondary School, which he finished in 2003. Yurii continued studying at Kvasyliv Lyceum where he obtained a qualification of a car mechanic.

In 2006, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Then, on August 1, 2014, Yurii was conscripted into the Zone of Counter-terrorist Operation. He participated in the fighting directly since August 30, 2014. Yurii served as a grenade launcher operator in the 80th Air Cavalry Brigade, 7th squadron, 3rd battalion.

He had not got in touch for a long period of time. After a post-mortem examination in Dnipropetrovsk Morgue, it was revealed that Yurii Datsiuk died in the Battle of Donetsk Airport on January 20, 2015.

The soldier was buried in his native village on April 16, 2015.

According to the Presidential Executive Order № 461/2015 on July 31, 2015, Yurii Datsiuk was posthumously awarded the Third Class Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi “for bravery and high professionalism demonstrated in the protection of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the oath of enlistment”.… Читати далі

Andrii Brik (07.14.1987-06.08.2015)

Andrii Brik was born on February 14, 1987 in the village of Derman Druha, Zdolbuniv Region.

He died at midnight on June 8, 2015 near the village of Hrechyshkyne, Novoaidar District, Luhansk Region, as a result of a gunfight between his reconnaissance group and a reconnaissance group of “Luhansk People’s Republic”.

He had a mother, a wife, and two small children.

Andrii was buried in the village of Derman Druha, Zdolbuniv District, Rivne Region.

By Decree of the President of Ukraine on January 16, 2016, he was posthumously awarded the Medal for the Ukrainian Military Service “For personal courage and high professionalism demonstrated in the defense of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath”.… Читати далі

Vasyl Zhuk (09.29.1991-01.26.2015)

Vasyl was born on September 29th, 1991, in the town of Zdolbuniv, Rivne Oblast. After finishing Zdolbuniv Secondary School №1, Vasyl continued his education in Rivne Vocational School. He was one of the first among his peers who firmly decided to defend his native land and bravely went to the front line. Vasyl was conscripted according to the partial mobilization on August 14th, 2014. While fighting at the hot spots, he often called his mother to free her from agitation, at least for some time.

Vasyl Zhuk heroically died on January 25th, 2015, during the mortar shelling near the legendary Donetsk airport.

Our countryman, a sergeant of the 93rd Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was only 23 years old.

According to the Presidential Executive Order №, 311/2015 on June 4th, 2015, Vasyl Zhuk was posthumously awarded the Third Class Order For Bravery “for personal courage and high professionalism demonstrated in defense of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath.”… Читати далі
